Why STA-BIL is The Choice in The Stable

I questioned this ad to why there was a horse in the garage. After a close examination as to why the horse was placed sleeping centered in the garage symbolizes the car parked in the garage. The editor’s choice of words clearly made sense through some research and comparison. I wondered the meaning of a particular sentence from the ad in Car and Drivers VOL.61, NO.4 page 37 issue “BE SURE THE OL’ GIRL DOESN’T COME UP LAME NEXT SPRING.” The author who wrote this ad seemed to refer “THE OL’ GIRL” as the mare present in the garage, but also compared it to the car. Men typically are accused of using a certain word choice to brag about their car by complimenting itself with “she is a beauty and look at her shine”, giving you the comparison the author was implementing. As for the last part of sentence “DOESN’T COME UP LAME NEXT SPRING” is mainly directed to health issues with horses. The term lame is defined as crippled or physically disabled, especially in the foot or leg so as to limp or walk with difficulty. The same goes with your cars health if it’s just left to sit there with no care provided, expect to have some sort of stress like a dead battery, fuel pump to take in bad gas, and the possibility of oil slugging up.

By centering  the mare on the page grabs the customer's attention to focus on her beauty and health. Her health indicates a responsible owner who maintains the mare with proper care. They set aside their product to the lower right hand corner reminding the customer of the product, with a few sentences emphasizing the STA-BIL product and how it will keep your cars fuel  fresh and ready to run wild in the spring with the horses.
